Free shipping on orders over $65
Description
Michelangelo painted the Delphic Sibyl, a prophetess of ancient Greece, on the Sistine Chapel ceiling between 1508 and 1512. Giorgio Ghisi, an engraver from Mantua, copied the pendentive in a series of Prophets and Sibyls in the Sistine Chapel made around 1570-75. Prints like this carried Michelangelo's designs far beyond Rome long before photography.
