Description
Johannes Vermeer painted Girl with a Pearl Earring around 1665. It is a tronie, a Dutch study of a character or expression rather than a portrait of a sitter, and the model has never been identified. The painting sold at auction in 1881 for only a few guilders and was bequeathed to the Mauritshuis in The Hague in 1903, where it has become one of the most visited works in the Netherlands. This women's softstyle tee carries the print on the front.
