Description
John William Waterhouse painted It's Sweet Doing Nothing in 1879 and first showed it at the Dudley Gallery in London that year. The title echoes the Italian phrase dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing. He painted a second, wider version the following year. This boxy tee carries the print across the chest, in a slightly cropped boxy cut.
