Description
New Year's Eve Foxfires at the Changing Tree, Ōji is a color woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, made around 1857 for his series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. According to local legend, foxes gathered under an old tree at Ōji on New Year's Eve, and farmers read the brightness of their fox-fire lights as a sign of the coming harvest. This women's cotton tee carries the print across the back.
