Description
Bronzino (1503–1572) was court painter to Cosimo I de' Medici in Florence and one of the great portraitists of Mannerism. This portrait of an unidentified young Florentine is dated by most scholars to the 1530s. It came to the Metropolitan Museum in 1929 with the bequest of Mrs. H. O. Havemeyer. This women's cotton tee carries the print on the front.
