Description

Edgar Degas painted The Dance Class around 1874, set in a rehearsal room of the Paris Opera, which he visited repeatedly to draw the dancers. The elderly man leaning on a cane is the ballet master Jules Perrot. Degas worked from sketches and memory in his studio, composing the scene so that the viewer seems to catch the dancers unposed. It is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Printed twice around the mug.

Custom printed and made to order.
