Description
Pieter Bruegel the Elder painted The Harvesters in 1565 as one of a group of paintings showing the times of the year, apparently made for the Antwerp merchant Niclaes Jonghelinck. The summer harvest scene, with reapers cutting wheat and resting under a pear tree, has been in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York since 1919. Printed twice around the mug.
