Description
The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters is plate 43 of Los Caprichos, a series of eighty etchings and aquatints that Francisco Goya published in Madrid in 1799. Goya used the series to satirize the superstition, folly and corruption of Spanish society, and this plate became its best known image. It is often read as a warning that when reason sleeps, nightmares take its place. This women's cotton tee carries the print across the back.
