Description
Avarice (Avaritia), from The Seven Deadly Sins is an engraving by Pieter van der Heyden after a design by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, published in Antwerp in 1558. It is one of seven prints in the series, each personifying a vice amid a crowd of hybrid creatures and fantastical details in the tradition of Hieronymus Bosch. Bruegel's designs for the set were among the most widely circulated prints of the Netherlandish Renaissance. This women's cotton tee carries the print across the back.
