Book of the Dead of Nauny Mug

Description
Nauny was a chantress of Amun, a temple singer in the cult centered at Thebes, and this papyrus was buried with her around 1050 BCE to guide her through the afterlife. The roll is more than five meters long, and this is its most famous scene, the weighing of the heart: Anubis balances the dead woman's heart against Maat, the embodiment of truth, while Osiris waits to judge the result. A heart that weighed no more than truth meant safe passage into eternity.
