Description
Faust is an etching with drypoint by Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669), made around 1652. It is traditionally read as the scholar Dr. Faustus startled at his study window by a luminous apparition bearing mysterious letters, a scene from the legend that later inspired Marlowe and Goethe. It is one of Rembrandt's most atmospheric prints, with a glowing disk set against deep shadow. This women's cotton tee carries the print across the back.
