Description
Vincent van Gogh painted Irises in 1890, in the final weeks of his stay at the asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, shortly before he left for Auvers-sur-Oise. He painted it from flowers he picked in the asylum garden, and it is one of the best-loved still lifes of his final year. This version is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Printed twice around the mug.
