Description
The Feast of Sada is a folio from the Shahnama of Shah Tahmasp, the great illustrated copy of the Persian Book of Kings made at the Safavid court in the early 16th century. The text is the epic poem by Abu'l Qasim Firdausi (c. 940–1020), and this page recounts the origin of Sada, the Persian midwinter festival of fire, said to have begun when King Hushang discovered fire. This women's cotton tee carries the page across the back.
